Today, intelligence does not see Iranian ballistic missiles in Russia.
Russia received a new batch of Shahed attack drones from Iran.
“This is a new batch. We are not commenting on the number now,” Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon, stressing that “Shahedi” were not used during yesterday’s Russian attack.
“This is a new party, but it is obviously smaller than the previous ones,” Yusov added.
Asked whether Russia had received ballistic missiles from Iran, Yusov said that he knew about previous agreements and about the “huge efforts of the Russians that they are making to get such missiles.”
“As of today, we have not seen Iranian ballistic missiles in Russia for use in Ukraine. But such a possibility exists,” the intelligence representative emphasized.
Iranian “Martyrs” in the war against Ukraine
Russia has actively used Iranian moped drones to attack peaceful Ukrainian cities since this year. Then the occupiers took a break from using drones for several weeks. OK “Pivden” associated this pause with their vulnerability to low air temperatures.
Yuriy Ignat, a representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that the low temperature creates icing of the entire fuselage of drones, but this is not a big problem – UAVs can be used both in summer and in winter. Already on December 10, drones attacked Ukraine again.
On December 14, another large-scale attack by kamikaze drones took place. It is not known whether these were UAVs already from a new batch of Iran. In addition, Western intelligence reports that Tehran may transfer its ballistic missiles to Moscow in the coming months.
