In the Bosphorus, due to artificial restrictions on the part of Russia, the queue for inspection of vessels transporting Ukrainian agricultural products is increasing.

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports that 92 ships are waiting for inspection by the Joint Coordination Center for the participants of the “Grain Contract” (JCC) in the Bosphorus.

“The queue continues to grow due to the artificial restriction of registration for inspection by the Russian Federation. For example, only 3 of the 65 vessels declared by the aggressor were registered for the current day,” the report says.

It is noted that this situation leads to restrictions on the work of Ukrainian ports and under-export of products of at least 3 million tons per month.

The Ministry of Infrastructure also reported that four ships with 145,000 tons of wheat left the ports of Greater Odessa in two days.

“For two days, 4 vessels with 145 thousand tons of wheat for Asia left the ports of Great Odesa. Among them, the bulk carrier STAR EMERALD with 71 thousand tons of wheat for Indonesia,” the message says.

Currently, there are 23 ships in the ports of Great Odesa, and 734,000 tons of Ukrainian agricultural products are loaded onto them. Three vessels are moving along the “grain corridor” to load 166,000 tons of agricultural products.

A total of 558 ships have left the ports of Great Odesa since the beginning of the “grain corridor” operation on August 1, exporting 14 million tons of Ukrainian food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.

Grain agreement: what is known

As reported by , on July 22, Ukraine and Russia, through the mediation of Turkey, signed separate agreements with the UN on the restoration of the export of Ukrainian agricultural products through the Black Sea. The documents provide for the export of products from the ports of “Chornomorsk”, “Odesa” and “Pivdenny” and the creation of safe routes. The first ship with Ukrainian food left Odesa on August 1 since February 24.

On October 29, Russia announced that it would stop participating in the implementation of the “grain initiative” agreements due to Ukraine’s alleged “terrorist attack” against ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in occupied Crimea. The UN, Turkey and Ukraine said they will continue exporting food despite Russia’s decision. On November 2, Russia announced a return to fulfilling its obligations under the “grain agreement”.

On November 17, it became known that the implementation of the “grain initiative” was extended for another 120 days. The UN and Turkey remained the guarantors of the implementation of this initiative.

In total, since August 1, that is, since the beginning of the “grain corridor”, 558 ships have left the ports of Greater Odessa, exporting 14 million tons of Ukrainian food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
