The number of enemies has increased in the captured part of the Zaporizhzhia region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.

The occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia region – in the Melitopol district, want to involve Ukrainian policemen who have gone over to their side in the hostilities.

The number of invaders in the populated areas of the district has increased, this is stated in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19.

“In addition, the Russian occupiers are considering the possibility of involving former police officers to participate in combat operations…” – the summary states.

It is noted that the occupiers continue to search the population in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Melitopol and a number of settlements in the Melitopol district were captured by the Russians, but not conquered – partisans are active there, explosions have been heard more than once near enemy “leagues”.

The Army of Ukraine is also actively fighting the occupiers. The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, shared on December 4 that our soldiers in the Zaporozhye direction eliminated dozens of enemy bases and more than a thousand occupiers in a week.

On December 18, Fedorov reported that in Melitopol opponents were preparing for street battles.

According to the forecast of military pilot-instructor, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan, the occupiers may retreat to parts of the Zaporizhzhia region.
