Now the Russian occupiers are trying to set up defense lines in the deeper rear.
In the area of occupied Melitopol, Russian troops are repeating the same scenario they used before retreating from Kherson.
The head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliya Humenyuk, recalled on Channel 24 that the invaders first gathered around Kherson, then left some settlements, stealing everything valuable on the way.
“In principle, all according to the same scenario, they probably liked it very much, as was the case on the right bank. They first gathered around Kherson, built, then they announced that they were leaving some settlements, then they prepared for street battles, then told , which is still not lost, then they started taking what they considered valuable from banks and other institutions. In principle, everything repeats itself, they like to step on the same rake. Let them work according to the same scenario, at least we know how it will end, ” – Humenyuk said.
She noted that now the Russian occupiers are trying to set up defense lines in the deeper rear and at least somehow report to their leadership that they have done something.
War: the liberation of Kherson and the situation in Melitopol
As reported, Kherson and Melitopol were captured by Russian troops in the first days of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The invaders did not manage to keep Kherson, and already on November 11 it returned to the control of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Melitopol still remains under Russian occupation. However, the Ukrainian military regularly destroys Russian bases in the area of this city. For example, on December 17, they destroyed the base of the Russian occupiers near the village of Troitske, Melitopol district, where the invaders took armored vehicles and vehicles, as well as personnel.
And earlier, on December 4, the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that during the week, our soldiers destroyed at least 20 enemy military bases in the Zaporozhye direction, and eliminated more than 1,000 invaders.
According to the forecast of the military pilot-instructor, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan, the occupiers may retreat from the Zaporizhzhia region.
