The rights holder left the Russian Federation, but without foreign films, the cinemas of the aggressor country “bend”.
In the Russian Federation, the film “Avatar: The Path of Water” began to be shown in cinemas. However, it is difficult to call it legal, because the right holder of the legendary franchise is the Disney company, which left the Russian market.
However, not only Disney has left the Russian Federation, and therefore without Hollywood films, the cinemas of the aggressor country “bend”, no one wants to watch “Russian folk art”. Therefore, all laws and regulations were bypassed there.
Yes, the film was simply “renamed” in Tatarstan. There was “Avatar”, and in the Russian Federation it became “Superhuman”. Apparently, this is how the Russians try to avoid punishment, but they are not afraid of lawsuits from Disney. The fact is that in Russia there is criminal liability for the illegal showing of foreign films without a distribution license.
In addition, especially cunning owners of cinemas invented how to “legalize” the second part of “Avatar”. So, in Moscow, they offer to buy tickets for a very interesting 17-minute film by Mikhalkov’s student. And as a “bonus” to this, so to speak “for warm-up”, viewers can watch “Avatar”. And no one is confused that after that the box office will not be received by the rights holders of James Cameron’s film, but by the creators of the short film.
Movie “Avatar: The Path of Water”
The audience has been waiting for the second part of James Cameron’s story for about 13 years. The sci-fi film, the first part of which collected almost 3 billion dollars at the box office, was released in Ukraine on December 15.
