The VP proposes to move from “non-working sanctions” to more decisive actions.
The world community should start destroying Iran’s weapons factories and arresting suppliers of components instead of “non-working sanctions”. Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated this.
He noted that Iran plans to increase the volume of arms supplies to Russia. According to Podoliak, Tehran demonstratively humiliates the entire institution of international sanctions with this.
“It is important to abandon the concept of “non-working sanctions”, “invalid UN resolutions”, and move to more destructive tools – destruction of factories and arrests of suppliers,” he wrote on his Twitter.
Iranian supplies of weapons to Russia
Since September of this year, the Russian army began to actively use Iranian kamikaze drones Shahed 136 and others in Ukraine. Basically, they were used to strike critical infrastructure facilities in the Ukrainian rear.
In mid-December, Russia received a new batch of drones from Iran, which again began to be actively used for strikes against Ukraine. According to Israeli intelligence, Moscow and Tehran intend to increase the volume of arms trade.
The President of Ukraine stated that Iran has become an accomplice of Russia in the war against Ukraine.
“One terrorist finds another. And it’s only a matter of time before they strike at your other allies if we don’t stop them now,” Zelenskyy said during a visit to the United States.
