In 10 months, 97,000 road accidents were registered in Ukraine.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the National Police has registered 12% fewer crimes compared to the same period in 2021. At the same time, the number of fatal road accidents decreased by 17%.
As the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko noted in Telegram, during the ten months of the war, the police received and processed almost 6.6 million appeals from citizens.
“During the 10 months of full-scale war, the National Police of Ukraine registered about 261,000 crimes. This is 12% less than last year. Regarding almost 126,000 criminal offenses, individuals were notified of their suspicions,” Klymenko said.
In particular, law enforcement officers documented about 66,000 property crimes, including almost 64,000 thefts. According to Klymenko, the police have identified more than 15,400 suspects.
In addition, 97 thousand traffic accidents were registered in Ukraine in 10 months.
“The number of deaths on the roads decreased by 17% – 2,438 people died as a result of road accidents,” Klymenko noted.
In general, the number of accidents decreased by 1.8 times compared to last year.
Road accident in Ukraine
On December 11, it was reported that the police are investigating the circumstances of the bus accident that occurred near Chernihiv. The minibus entered the checkpoint. It is known that seven passengers were injured.
At the end of November, it became known that constant blackouts due to Russian missile strikes had a negative impact on the number of road accidents. The number of people killed in accidents increased sixfold. The number of road accidents involving pedestrians has also increased.
