Law enforcement officers detained two “thieves in law” “Umka” and “Lasha Svan”, who received their status from top representatives of the Russian criminal world.
UNN was informed about this by the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. According to the investigation, “thieves in law”, who have the criminal nicknames “Lasha Svan” and “Umka”, being suspects in the case of spreading criminal influence, from December 2020 to March 2021 organized and participated in three criminal meetings in Ukraine . with representatives of crime.
At these “meetings” issues of coordination of criminal activity and conflict situations were resolved. A decision was also made to allocate financial aid from the so-called “thieves’ community” for the festive needs of criminals and “thieves in law” who are in prisons.
“In the east, they gave one of the leaders of an organized criminal group wider powers – they gave him the opportunity to collect funds obtained through criminal means on the territory of Odesa,” the report says.
It is noted that the currently collected evidence became the basis for the detention of “thieves in law” in accordance with Part 4 of Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. Currently, the issue of his choosing preventive measures is being resolved.
Both persons involved were informed of the suspicion of establishing and spreading criminal influence, as well as organizing and participating in criminal gatherings of “shodka” (Part 3 of Article 255-1, Part 1 of Article 255-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It is also reported that the pre-trial investigation into the spread of criminal influence by these “thieves in law” was completed earlier, and the indictment was sent to the court.
It is known that “thieves in law” “Umka” was crowned in 2014, and “Lasha Svan” – in 1995. They received their titles from top representatives of the Russian criminal world.
Detention of “thieves in law”
As reported, a “thief in law” group nicknamed “Antimos” was recently neutralized in Odesa.
In March 2021, a “thief in law” who spent more than 20 years in Russian prisons was detained in Odessa.
Even earlier, a “thief in law” nicknamed “Zyuzya” was expelled from Ukraine. He entered the territory of the country outside the official checkpoints.
