The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that she has the qualifications of a specialist in international relations, a translator and is fluent in English.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to criticisms regarding the new ambassador to Bulgaria. Immediately after the appointment of Olesya Ilashchuk as the Ukrainian ambassador to the mentioned country, a number of mass media began to write about the fact that the diplomat does not have the relevant experience.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ilashchuk received a diploma with honors in the specialty “Local Studies” from the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University. She is qualified as a specialist in international relations, a translator and speaks English fluently.
“The Bulgarian government, after evaluating her candidacy, as is customary in international practice, granted Ms. Ilashchuk’s approval without delay, without any reservations regarding her work in Bulgaria,” the message reads.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urged to evaluate the new ambassador based on the results of his work, and not based on interpretations and images.
The scandal surrounding the appointment of Ilashchuk
Earlier, the mass media reported that Zelenskyi appointed Olesya Ilashchuk, who has no experience in diplomacy or public positions, as the ambassador of Ukraine to Bulgaria. Previously, this woman positioned herself as an expert in sexology and precious jewelry.
They also wrote that Ilashchuk is positioned in one of the social networks as a “clinical psychologist, systemic family therapist, Gestalt therapist, sexologist-consultant.” The day before, her profile was blocked.
