After the liberation of the Kinburn Spit, the cascade defense of the Russian occupying forces will begin to collapse already on the left bank of the Kherson region.
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer of the “Information Resistance” group, believes that the Russian occupiers have created a suicidal stalemate on the Kinburn spit. Soon there may be another gesture of goodwill from the Russian invaders.
In an interview with TSN, he noted that the Kinburn spit should be considered in combination with part of the left-bank Kherson region.
“As of today, we are not talking about any assault actions in the direction of this area. We are talking about fire influence. There is quite serious fire influence from the Armed Forces,” the expert noted.
According to Kovalenko, maintaining the positions occupied by the Russians is complicated by many factors. In the near future, the enemy will not be able to hold this area at all.
“It will be a suicidal stalemate when the occupiers enter the place where they will be constantly destroyed. These are quite serious losses,” Kovalenko stressed.
He added that a “gesture of goodwill” could soon take place at the Kinbourn spit. At the same time, the expert predicts the “negative offensive” of the occupiers not only there.
“If a “gesture of goodwill” takes place there, then in fact the Kinburn spit is such a dagger to the left-bank Kherson region. One way or another, they will be forced to leave the other part of the left-bank Kherson region. That is why this is such a suicidal stalemate – they are there, they are constantly our artillery is covering,” the observer continued.
Kovalenko believes that if the Russians leave the Kinburn Spit, the Armed Forces will immediately appear there. After that, the cascade defense of the Russian occupying forces will begin to collapse already on the left bank of the Kherson region.
“They understand it, but they can’t do anything about it,” the expert summed up.
The situation on the Kinburn spit: what is known
In the first half of December 2022, the head of Mykolayiv OV Vitaly Kim stated that there were no civilians left on the temporarily occupied Kinburn spit, only Russian invaders. He noted that the Russian military on the Kinburn spit does not directly pose a great threat to Mykolaiv.
On December 24, the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliya Humenyuk, reported that the number of shelling in the Mykolayiv region has decreased, with the exception of communities located directly near the Kinburn spit. According to her, the situation on the Kinburn spit remains difficult, as the Russians have the opportunity to transfer new forces and weapons there by land.
