The collaborator worked for Russian rubles in a prison created by the occupiers for local activists and participants of the anti-terrorist operation.
Another collaborator was discovered in Kherson, liberated from Russian occupation.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, an employee of the Kherson detention center worked for the invaders during the occupation of the city.
“It was established that after the capture of Kherson by Russian troops, the man remained working in the SIZO, which the occupiers illegally used as a prison, including for local activists, ATO participants and citizens who resisted the occupation. The institution began to work allegedly according to the laws of the Russian Federation and issued salaries in Russian rubles. The employee of the pre-trial detention center carried out all the instructions of the invaders, including those regarding the protection of detained Ukrainians,” the SGB notes.
According to the investigation, after the liberation of the city from the Russian invaders, the man continued to maintain contacts with the enemy and hid in the city until he was detained during stabilization measures.
“According to substantiated operational data, the suspect could continue to contact the enemy and provide him with information about the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine in the liberated territory of the Kherson region. The suspect has already been informed of suspicion of treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” – law enforcement officers emphasize.
Collaborators in Kherson
On November 11, Ukrainian defenders entered Kherson, which had been occupied since the first days of the full-scale war unleashed by Russia.
Stabilization measures are currently underway in the de-occupied regional center. During their implementation, collaborators and traitors are discovered. The law enforcement officers also have lists of the enemy’s assistants – classified documents of the FSB of Russia, which contain information about collaborating agents, were found in November.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi appealed to the abandoned Russian soldiers, mercenaries and collaborators to surrender to the law enforcement officers voluntarily. And some of them do it themselves.
In particular, the day before, a female official-collaborator, who was declared wanted, was detained. She herself came to the law enforcement officers “with a confession”.
