China will adhere to its “objective and fair position”.
During a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said that the path to peace talks on ending the war in Ukraine will not be easy. At the same time, the PRC will continue to adhere to its “objective and fair position”.
“The Chinese side emphasized that the Russian side has stated that it has never refused to resolve the conflict through diplomatic negotiations, and expressed its gratitude for that,” Chinese state broadcaster CCTV quoted Xi Jinping as saying.
The President of the People’s Republic of China also stated that China and the Russian Federation should closely coordinate their actions and cooperate in the international sphere. But Putin, in comments on Russian television, declared his desire to develop a military partnership with China. At the same time, nothing was mentioned about this in the statements of the PRC.
