Energy workers are working non-stop to restore energy supply.
On December 31, it was possible to avoid serious damage to the energy system of Ukraine thanks to the excellent work of the Air Defense Forces and early technical measures, Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko announced on Facebook.
Energy workers are working non-stop to restore energy supply, the minister emphasized.
He emphasized that in the entire history of Ukraine’s independence, these are the most difficult Christmas and New Year holidays.
“The enemy is trying to break us in any way. However, despite the plans of the aggressor, Ukrainian energy companies will do everything possible and impossible so that on New Year’s Eve, Ukrainians will have light,” Galushchenko said.
The mass attack of Russia on December 31 is the occupiers’ terror for the holidays
On New Year’s Eve, Russian terrorists staged another air attack on Ukraine. Fortunately, air defense forces worked in all cities.
The Armed Forces intercepted 12 out of more than 20 cruise missiles, General Valery Zaluzhnyi reported. The Russian army launched missiles from Tu-95 strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea and land-based missile systems.
At the same time, some Russian rockets damaged residential buildings and infrastructure facilities in the capital and Mykolaiv. The exact number of dead and wounded is being established. So far, it is already known about dozens of victims.
In Kyiv, 30% of consumers are without electricity due to emergency shutdowns.
The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi repeatedly emphasized that Russia is deliberately trying to plunge Ukrainians into darkness during the New Year holidays.
Russia also carried out massive strikes on December 29. However, thanks to the efforts of the Air Defense Forces, the occupiers did not manage to arrange a new long-term blackout for the Ukrainians.
