The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, notes that fear has reigned in Russia because they will lose the war waged against the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian statehood.
“The Russian terrorists were pathetic, so they came this year. Our defenders, as well done as they were, also showed themselves very well on January 1. Our sense of unity, authenticity, life itself – all this contrasts so much with the fear that prevailed in Russia,” Zelenskyy said in an evening address to Ukrainians.
The President noted that they are afraid in Russia.
“You can feel it. And they are rightly afraid. Because they will lose. Drones, missiles, everything else will not help them. Because we are together. And they are only together with fear. And they will not take away our independence in Ukraine for a single year. They don’t care we will give,” Zelensky emphasized.
The head of state thanked all those who beat the enemy at the front this night and every day.
“Also, for the Russian attack on Kherson, Nikopol, on Kharkiv Oblast, on all our cities and communities – we respond to the occupiers in a very tangible way for them. I thank all our energy workers and utility companies for stable energy supply and a minimum of blackouts, taking into account all the existing circumstances. Wherever transmission lines and other energy facilities were damaged by shelling, restoration is ongoing 24 hours a day, today as well,” the president said.
