The Russian Federation will try to reverse the situation in the war, but Ukraine will mobilize the world community to prevent this.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, notes that the authorities of the Russian Federation will throw anyone and everyone they can take to the front in order to postpone their defeat in the war against Ukraine.
The head of state said this in an evening address to Ukrainians. The head of state talked about his today’s negotiations with the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Great Britain, Norway and Canada.
“We started this year right away with what is most necessary for Ukraine right now – on the eve of those new mobilization processes being prepared by the terrorist state. Right now is the moment when, together with our partners, we should strengthen our defense,” Zelenskyy said.
“We have no doubt that the current hosts of Russia will throw everything they have left and everyone they can gather to try to turn the tide of the war and at least postpone their defeat,” the president emphasized.
The head of state said that it is necessary to disrupt this Russian scenario.
“We are preparing for this. The terrorists must lose. Any attempt of their new offensive must fail. This will be the final defeat of the terrorist state. And I thank all partners who understand this,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that Russia is mobilizing those it wants to leave to die.
“We are mobilizing the civilized world. For the sake of life,” the president noted.
The threat of a new offensive by Russia
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhnyi, said in an interview that Russia is training about 200,000 new soldiers. In his opinion, the Russian army will go to Kyiv again.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov also said that Russia wants to launch a new offensive in February.
Later, he noted that at the beginning of January, the Russian Federation will close its borders to men, declare martial law and start another wave of mobilization. Borders will also be closed in Belarus, the minister said.
The Ministry of Defense says that they cannot guarantee that Ukrainians will be warned about a new large-scale Russian offensive.
