As evidence, the State Border and Border Committee of Belarus published a video.
Belarusian border guards complained about the Ukrainian military, who allegedly showed them “offensive and threatening gestures”.
Thus, a representative of the Belarusian State Border and Border Committee stated that “provocations” were recorded on the Ukrainian side at the “Piddobryanka” checkpoint.
As proof of “provocations”, the border guards showed a video on which a border guard wearing a helmet, bulletproof vest and balaclava on the Ukrainian side waved in the direction of Belarus. After that, the Ukrainian border guard ran his hand over his throat and hinted to his Belarusian colleagues what awaits them in the event of a new invasion of Ukraine.
In addition, the representative of the State Border Committee of Belarus added that the Ukrainian border guards were allegedly “pointing their weapons” in their direction. However, no evidence of this fact was provided in the published video.
The situation on the border with Belarus
The commander of the defense forces of Kyiv, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, said that in the event of a repeated attempt by the occupiers to attack Kyiv from the territory of Belarus, our military will stop the enemy at the border. He noted that today the entire border with Belarus is “solid rubble and minefields”. Enemies will need effort to get through them.
On December 24, 2022, the State Border Service of Ukraine emphasized that the situation on the border with Belarus is now under control. Ukrainian defenders do not record the movement of equipment or troops to the other side.
