The president emphasized that he is discussing with all leaders the increase in military support for Ukraine and “protection for all Ukrainians – protection on land, in the sky and at sea.”
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the details of today’s telephone conversations with the leaders of the four states.
In his evening video message, he recalled that today he had phone conversations with the presidents of Turkey and Latvia, as well as the prime ministers of Spain and Croatia.
According to Zelenskyi, he is discussing two things with all the leaders – increasing military support for Ukraine, “that is, more weapons for the army”, and increasing “protection for all Ukrainians – protection on land, in the sky and at sea”.
“My conversation today with the Prime Minister of Croatia Plenkovic was not only meaningful, as always, but also quite inspiring. I heard the full support of our state, and I also heard the readiness of Croatia to be a leader in implementing exactly those steps that guarantee the return of the elements security of Ukraine and Europe as a whole. Croatia is ready to be a leader in the efforts necessary to clear our land of Russian mines and unexploded shells. This is one of the vital tasks for our state and all Europeans,” he said.
According to the head of state, no part of Europe should be and will not be contaminated by mines, no matter how Russia tries to fill “Ukrainian land with its instruments of death.”
“The conversation with the president of Latvia today was also devoted to the path that our entire continent must take in order to guarantee truly reliable security after the defeat of Russian aggression. We discussed the points of the Ukrainian formula for peace – both security issues and those related to the restoration of our territorial integrity and the full force of the UN Charter, and the just responsibility of Russia and all its murderers for terror against Ukrainians,” he said.
Zelenskyi also noted the conversation with the President of Turkey, which concerned many elements of security in the Black Sea region.
“Of course, we talked about the necessary steps to ensure food security and what needs to be done for nuclear safety and the prevention of any radiation incidents, the threat of which, unfortunately, Russia has made quite real. We also talked about the dynamics of the situation in our region – that the owners of Russia are now in a rather desperate situation due to the defeat of the occupiers at the front and are ready for various manipulations,” the president said.
He thanked the Turkish leader for supporting the need for an honest restoration of security in the country and throughout Europe based on the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
“My conversation today with Prime Minister of Spain Sanchez was very meaningful and timely. On the eve of the new meeting in the format of “Ramstein”, it is very important that each of our partners knows one hundred percent the real situation on the front line and what our Forces are ready for defense. I thank Prime Minister Sanchez and all Spaniards for their constant support of our desire to protect freedom,” Zelenskyy said.
