More than 60% of Ukrainians believe that after the end of martial law, the authorities should allow the use of fireworks and salutes.
This is evidenced by the results of the All-Ukrainian public opinion survey “Omnibus”, conducted in December 2022 by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
“The majority of respondents (61%) believe that after the end of martial law, permission to use fireworks and salutes should be restored, although there are differences in terms of when it can be allowed again,” said the press release based on the results of the survey.
Thus, 29% of respondents believe that it can be done immediately after the end of martial law, 7% – within three months after the end of martial law, 25% – within the first year. At the same time, only 21% of citizens insist on banning the use of fireworks and salutes forever.
Another 18% have an uncertain attitude on the issue of banning the use of fireworks and salutes.
On December 4-27, 2022, KMIS conducted an all-Ukrainian poll of public opinion “Omnibus”. At the request of the “Professional Association of Pyrotechnicians of Ukraine” questions about the use of fireworks and salutes were included in the questionnaire.
The survey was conducted by the method of telephone interviews with the help of a computer, taking into account a random sample of mobile phone numbers. Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample did not exceed 2.4%.
We will remind that in Vinnytsia, a man who set off fireworks around 00:30 on New Year’s Eve was found and taken to the police department. Law enforcement officers also detained a 47-year-old man from Kyiv who was setting off fireworks in the center of Kyiv on New Year’s Eve.
Earlier it was reported that 85% of Ukrainians consider any territorial concessions by Russia unacceptable. Also, more than 60% of the population of Ukraine stated that their family’s financial situation has worsened, noting at the same time a significant increase in the prices of goods and medicines.
