This branch of the railway was used by the Russians to transport military equipment, personnel and ammunition.
On the evening of January 6, Ukrainian partisans destroyed the railway track between Luhansk and the village of Lantrativka with the help of an improvised explosive device near Shchastya.
Serhii Gaidai, the head of the Luhansk military-civilian administration, reported this on Telegram. According to him, this branch of the railway was used by the Russians to transport military equipment, personnel and ammunition.
In addition, in the reverse direction, the occupiers export Ukrainian grain to the territory of the Russian Federation. In their media, they themselves admit that more than 1,000 tons of grain were stolen from the Starobil elevator alone.
“Christmas elves are working. Luhansk partisans are a force,” he concluded.
The situation in Luhansk region
As reported, on January 5, Gaidai reported that the occupiers in Luhansk region are closing villages to entry and exit, taking the local population to the regional center and torturing them because of suspicions of adjusting the fire of the Armed Forces to their positions.
As you know, the Ukrainian army launched a counteroffensive at the end of the summer, and 12 settlements in the region have already been liberated. At the end of December, Gaidai said that Ukrainian defenders advanced more than two kilometers in the direction of the temporarily occupied city of Kreminna in a week.
