Yuriy Butusov emphasized that the defenders of Soledar need technical support.
For eight days, Ukrainian defenders have been fighting a continuous close-range battle in Soledar, Donetsk region. The Russian occupiers managed to enter the building, but our fighters keep the entire city under fire control.
According to journalist Yuriy Butusov, local residents try to live a normal life and even walk their dogs under fire.
“You can constantly hear either explosions or small arms fire. In the shattered city, assault groups are fighting at distances of 20-30 meters, everyone is moving from house to house with weapons at the ready, because the enemy is constantly trying to wedge in. During the firefights, local residents are shocked, some walk on a dog in the yard, when there are chirping nearby from all sides, and bullets are whistling in all directions, watering the walls,” the journalist said in his Telegram channel.
He noted that those who still remained in the city live thanks to the help of humanitarian organizations, and they are also fed by our fighters.
“Russian troops have been continuing their assault on Soledar every day since December 27. “Punish Putin” from PKV Wagner and the Russian airborne forces are trying to recapture the city, which is defended by the 46th Airborne Brigade. It is difficult to describe in words how clearly and professionally they constantly and continuously busy with combat work. These soldiers do not need sympathy – they only need shells, mines, “wedding Maviks”, Starlinks, tanks, Haimars”, Butusov shared.
He noted that the Russians are suffering huge losses, but this does not stop them and the occupiers are trying to advance at any cost.
“Russia needs political success, they want to seize the Ukrainian city to show that mobilization allowed Putin to turn the tide of the war. And the Russians do not care about the losses in Soledar. Until this moment, the enemy has advanced to the city from three sides. Most of Soledar is under our fire control. but the enemy managed to enter the building,” the journalist reported.
He also emphasized that our fighters need proper support.
