Any railway accident in the Russian Federation will lead to a serious delay in the supply of ammunition, weapons and fuel to the Russian occupiers in Ukraine.

Military expert Oleg Zhdanov said that the Russian army still functions according to the standards of the Soviet one, which was imprisoned during the Second World War. This concerns the issue of overturning echelons of equipment, therefore, railways are “bloody arteries” for Russia.

So, to a subscriber’s question about how important the railway is for the Russian Federation and what will happen if Russian diesel locomotives are damaged, Zhdanov answered during the broadcast on YouTube that diesel locomotives mainly perform the function of maneuvers. Electric locomotives are the main force on the railway.

“They say that there is a partisan movement in Russia, that on the Trans-Siberian highway cabinets with automation that control traffic on the railway are on fire. Plus there are power substations that provide power, because an electric locomotive pulls a lot, especially when a loaded warehouse is going,” – added the expert.

As for rail transportation, Zhdanov emphasized that it is “the basis of the basics.” If the Trans-Siberian highway is built, and the main warehouses are beyond the Urals, then for the Russian Federation there will be a huge problem of transferring equipment from the Far East to the European part of Russia.
