Podolyak emphasized that the war will end in 2023.
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said that despite the fact that the West believes that time is on Kyiv’s side in Russia’s war against Ukraine, no one from the Ukrainian side is going to prolong it.
“Very briefly and very clearly. First, the war will end in 2023. During 2023. This is important, because for us a delay is a very bad scenario,” Podolyak said in an interview with Vasyl Golovanov.
According to him, only Russia needs to prolong the war. He noted that as a result of the long war, the enemy wants to significantly reduce the intensity of hostilities.
“That’s why they tried this fake ‘temporary ceasefire’. It was an attempt to reduce the intensity of the war,” explained Podolyak.
The adviser to the head of the VP emphasized that during the so-called “ceasefire”, the Russian invaders wanted to fix positions in order to strengthen themselves there later. In this case, it would be extremely dangerous to go there in 2-3 months.
“We don’t need it,” Podolyak summed up.
War in Ukraine: forecasts
Former Bundeswehr and NATO general Hans-Lothar Domrese believes that between February and May there will be a certain stagnation in Russia’s war against Ukraine, when both sides will realize the senselessness of further hostilities.
The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, predicts that victory awaits Ukraine in 2023.
NATO believes that the Russian Federation has no intention of abandoning its main goal – establishing control over Ukraine – and is preparing for a protracted war with a possible attempt at a new offensive. According to Stoltenberg, this war is most likely to end at the negotiating table.
