The secretary of the NSDC believes that after the next conference in the “Ramstein” format, besides tanks, Ukraine will be given “a lot of interesting things”.
Ukraine will have enough weapons both to hold the defense and to go on the offensive.
This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, on the air of the telethon. “Weapons will be enough for us to maintain our defense and for us to go on the offensive,” Danilov stressed.
He believes that after the next meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine (“Ramstein”), Ukraine will receive “a lot of interesting things” in addition to tanks. “Thanks to all partners, we are keeping the situation as it is today. There will be not only tanks, I think there will be many more interesting things that we will learn about after the next Ramstein is held,” Danilov emphasized.
According to him, the statement of the President of Poland on the provision of a company of Leopard tanks to Ukraine is an important step in the context of the transfer of tanks by other countries.
“Until now, heavy tanks have not been handed over to us – at all. And the most important thing was for us, and for our president, who deals with this issue 24 hours a day, that there would be a beginning… And what happened yesterday in Lviv, a statement of the President of Poland is a very important step in order to move this issue from a dead point. You know that we have been asking for these tanks since the summer. Now is the time when we will finally start receiving them. I emphasize again, it is not about the number – it’s about the beginning. How many of them there will be – the main thing is that they start to be provided, and then the partners, I am more than sure, will join this process. And they will be enough for us to defeat our enemy on the battlefield,” Danilov stressed.
Also, the Secretary of the National Security Council noted that there are countries that are very powerful in helping Ukraine, but do not want to disclose it, and urged to be more careful with the accusations against certain countries regarding the lack of assistance.
“Each country independently decides what information to give about helping us with weapons… We do not emphasize certain countries that help us quite strongly, but they made a decision that it should not be publicly broadcast. The war will be over when the story is written about In this war, I think we will learn a lot of interesting things about those people, about the countries that helped us, but they didn’t talk about it out loud for various reasons,” Danilov explained.
