The famous boxer earned his first money on a farm.
Oleksandr Usyk, the owner of the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight belts, told how much money he received from his first official salary.
The famous boxer admitted that he received the first money in his life for working on a farm.
“My first official salary was 39 or 37 hryvnias when I worked on a farm in the village of Rybotyn, helping to collect hay and graze cows. I was 11 or 12 years old then,” Usyk said.
It is worth noting that at the moment Usyk is one of the highest paid sportsmen of Ukraine.
Even in 2020, Usyk’s earnings for his entire professional career did not exceed four million dollars. However, they increased significantly after the first fight with the British boxer Anthony Joshua in October 2021, for which Alexander received 13 million dollars.
Usyk’s fee for the rematch with Joshua was $35 million.
According to Sportekz, Oleksandr Usyk has already earned at least 52 million dollars during his career.
We will remind, Usyk’s rematch against Joshua took place in August of last year. The Ukrainian won by split decision and defended his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles. The Ukrainian also won the vacant belt of the world champion according to The Ring magazine.
It is expected that the Ukrainian will fight his next fight against the WBC belt holder Tyson Fury.
