They finally had scarce shells of 152 caliber.
The Soledar-Bakhmut section of the front remains the epicenter of the confrontations. In Soledar itself, the streets of the city change hands every day. The occupiers need this city to open the road to Bakhmut.
According to the story of TSN, Ukrainian artillerymen are conducting an effective counter-battery fight near Bakhmut. The Armed Forces destroy Russian guns both with the help of old Soviet howitzers and new German ones.
But the greatest joy of the Ukrainian gunners is that they finally have scarce shells of 152 caliber. And most importantly, they are domestically produced.
“We also have more shells, more long-range artillery that can work in counter-battery, partner high-precision artillery. Therefore, in my experience, it has become much easier for the artillerymen,” says the Ukrainian defender.
The situation in Soledar and Bakhmut
Fierce battles have been going on for several months in the Bakhmut area. Now the most difficult situation is in Bakhmut and Soledar itself. The Ukrainian military has to repulse a series of attacks by the Russian invaders every day, causing them colossal losses.
On January 12, 2023, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported that fierce fighting is ongoing in the Soledar area, the enemy is unsuccessfully trying to break through the defenses and is suffering significant losses. On the same day, the SZH command reported that more than 100 Russian invaders were destroyed in the Soledar area.
Satellite images show that as a result of the fighting, Soledar and Bakhmut were practically destroyed, they turned into ruins.
