President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi notes that as of today, only through United24, about half a billion hryvnias have been collected from people from more than a hundred countries – for the restoration of housing.
In his video message, Zelensky noted that today, January 12, a new direction was opened in the Ukrainian state charity platform United24. This direction is the restoration of Ukraine.
“That is, it is the generation of funds for reconstruction. In particular, housing for Ukrainians in the territories affected by Russian strikes and occupation. As of today, only through United24, about half a billion hryvnias have been collected from people from over a hundred countries – for the reconstruction of housing,” he said president.
He added that this is tangible help for local communities and the state.
“In general, thanks to the state fundraising platform, more than 10 billion hryvnias have already been collected. I thank everyone who joined the United24 meeting,” the head of state said.
International aid for the recovery of Ukraine
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this week that the government plans to receive $17 billion in 2023 to restore property damaged and destroyed by a full-scale Russian invasion.
The Japanese government has allocated 95 million dollars for the restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure: these funds will be sent to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as part of the partnership agreement signed today by the Japanese and Ukrainian parties and UN representatives.
