The State Duma declared that they “should not be cannon fodder.”
In the Russian Federation, they decided to hold a military meeting for men who had not previously served for over 30 years. They are supposed to acquire a military accounting specialty and “not be cannon fodder.”
Such a statement was made to RosZMI by a member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Defense, Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev. His comment states: “Those who are over 30 years old will be brought to the assembly in order to acquire a military accounting specialty and not be cannon fodder.”
The decision was made after a new law on changing the age for conscription into the army came into force in Russia. It provides for raising the upper bar to 30 years. That is, citizens from 18 to 30 years of age will now be recruited into the army of the aggressor state. The idea was submitted by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin supported it.
“Conceptually, indeed, this idea was supported by the head of the state, but the details, the design of this idea, it is still necessary and follows as a primary source [узнавать] information to the Ministry of Defense,” Putin’s press secretary Dmytro Peskov said.
New wave of mobilization in Russia: what is known
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Russian Federation aims to increase the size of the army to 2 million people. It is possible that in the coming days the aggressor will announce a new wave of mobilization with the aim of attracting 500,000 men.
Ukrainian intelligence also reported on the introduction of restrictions on the departure of citizens fit for military service in Russia. This applies even to people from category B, that is, those with limited fitness.
As stated in the General Staff, the Rashists want to form 20 new divisions, but the Ukrainian command has doubts about the realism of this plan.
Andriy Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Committee on Defense of the Russian Federation, said that in the spring the number of conscripts for the war against Ukraine is planned to increase to 200,000.
