The press secretary of the White House emphasized that the USA is the largest provider of aid to Ukraine.
White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre responded to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s condition that his country would agree to transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine if Washington supplies Abrams.
“The president believes that each country should make its own sovereign decision about what assistance and what types of equipment they are ready to provide to Ukraine,” she emphasized during the briefing.
Jean-Pierre noted that the United States welcomes the decision of Germany and Britain to provide military equipment and weapons. According to her, the “solidarity of nations” in supporting Ukraine is obvious. However, “this is the decision of each country.”
At the same time, the press secretary of the White House added that the USA is the “largest provider” of security and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
Weapons for Ukraine: aid from the United States
Washington intends to transfer Stryker armored fighting vehicles to the Ukrainian army, as well as small-sized high-precision munitions GLSDB (this is a combination of an aerial bomb with a rocket engine).
In addition, Ukraine will receive 14 Vampire modular missile systems from Washington. The US Department of Defense signed a contract for their production with L3harris Technologies.
