You can speed up the Windows 11 OS yourself if you turn off just one option in the security settings. This hack is primarily aimed at owners of weak PCs, for whom a small increase in performance can make a difference.
It is about VBS, Virtualization-based Security or “Security based on virtualization”. This technology creates a safe area in RAM, isolating it from the rest of the system. According to the results of tests conducted by experts, it can easily reduce computer performance by 20 or even more – 25 percent. This is especially noticeable in games or when working with “heavy” programs.
Most often, this feature is activated by default when the user acquires a new laptop/desktop computer, or if he performs a “clean” installation of Windows 11. However, it is just as easy to disable it.
- Open the Run window by pressing Win+R.
- Type cmd and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter
- At the command line, type bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off, then press Enter and wait for the system to complete the process.
- At the end, restart the computer so that the changes take effect.
You can also disable VBS through system settings. Open “Options”, enter “Kernel Isolation” in the search and launch the program. After that, you need to disable the “Memory Integrity” option and restart the computer.
An important point: after disabling VBS, the computer will be more vulnerable to hacker attacks. If you are someone who uses your system for official confidential work, it is better to leave VBS enabled. If you are a gamer or use resource-intensive programs, you can safely disable VBS.
