On the Russian side, it has become fashionable to create private gangs, which are incorrectly called “PMC”.
In Melitopol, local collaborators are trying to create their “private military company” (PMC). It recruits not only local residents and Russians, but also citizens of Serbia. This was announced by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.
According to him, Evgeny Balytskyi, appointed by the Russians as the Gauleiter of the occupied regions of the Zaporizhzhia region, has been trying to find volunteers for the “Sudoplatov Battalion” he created for some time.
However, there were not many willing, so the gang began to recruit mercenaries from Serbia. Fedorov noted that among the recruited Serbs there are “two executioners who are wanted by Interpol.”
The mayor also reported that the occupiers are trying to forcibly mobilize local residents as “volunteers” in their “PMC”.
Serbian mercenaries in Ukraine
The participation of Serbs in the war on the side of Russia has been known since 2014. Five years ago, because of this, a small diplomatic scandal broke out between Ukraine and Serbia.
The other day, Russian propagandists released a video showing the arrival of a new batch of Serbian mercenaries. It was claimed that they arrived in the direction of Zaporozhye.
The authorities of Serbia itself were not happy with the participation of their citizens in this war and threatened the mercenaries with criminal responsibility.
