One such installation was successfully tested on the battlefield.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov stated that the Ukrainian 155-mm Bohdan self-propelled artillery system (SAU) will cover Western tanks on the battlefield.
“The Ministry of Defense did not advertise this, but all of last year we did not stop the procurement of military equipment (weapons and military equipment – ed.) from domestic manufacturers. Wherever possible, within the limits of competence, we promoted deployment in new locations and increased capacities,” the chairman said . Ministry of Defense on Facebook.
According to him, the ministry was also working to ensure that in 2023 the maximum amount of funds was directed to Ukrainian manufacturers of all components – from uniforms, shoes, body armor and UAVs to heavy weapons and ammunition.
The minister also published a photo of the Ukrainian-made “Bohdan” ACS.
“One such artillery system was successfully tested on the battlefield. The Ministry of Defense financed the new artillery systems as early as the spring of 2022. Western-made tanks, which will arrive in a few months, will be supported at the front by Ukrainian – in all senses of the word – artillery,” Reznikov emphasized.
He noted that Ukraine should be as independent as possible in all components of defense provision, wherever possible. This makes our country a desirable partner and strengthens our position. Reznikov also added that “the first results of our movement from unmanned aerial vehicles” will soon be presented.
ACS “Bohdan”
