Despite the post-holiday period, the low season in production and a slight slowdown in the economy, there are still vacancies for citizens of Ukraine in Europe, although their number has significantly decreased compared to the pre-New Year demand for work by foreigners.

European employers employ citizens of Ukraine who left for Europe due to the war and have temporary protection status or work visas. EWL Migration Platform experts have collected available vacancies in February for Ukrainians abroad who do not require special skills and often know the local language.

More vacancies appear at food industry enterprises that are preparing for the summer season – for example, in the production of ice cream. The automotive industry has revived its work after the pandemic. As the industry research shows, one of the biggest fears of a third of employers in the automotive industry in the context of the war in Ukraine is the return of employed Ukrainians to their homeland and a smaller number of foreign workers. Therefore, in this way, the automotive company in Romania tries to compete with similar plants in other European countries, where Ukrainian citizens are also employed for such work.
