Ukraine has already managed to convince the West to share artillery, air defense and tanks. It will be the same with airplanes.
Ukraine will certainly receive combat aircraft from the West. The experience of supplying other weapons confirms this. Business Insider writes about it.
It is noted that during the last 11 months, if Ukraine asked for some weapons from its partners, it later received them. This was the case with MLRS, air defense systems, armored combat vehicles and tanks.
According to the former ambassador of France to the United States and the United Nations, Gérard Araud, it is also only a matter of time before Ukraine receives Western aircraft.
“Every three months there is a debate about a new type of weapon. Now they were talking about tanks. I can bet that in the next three months it will be airplanes,” the diplomat said.
Aro noted that the debate about each successive type of weapon turns into international quarrels, but as a result, the West gives the green light to new military equipment.
Delivery of aircraft to Ukraine
After the approval of the supply of Western tanks, Ukraine began to seek the same decision regarding fighters. In this matter, Kyiv is counting on the support of the Baltic countries.
According to unofficial information, the administration of US President Joe Biden intends to study the possibility of sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This issue will be discussed with the allies.
At the same time, the British authorities are ready to approve the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine, but only after the withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied territories.
