Fog and air temperature of -12°С are reported on Mount Pip Ivan Chornogorskyi.
Rescuers advise refraining from hiking to the Carpathian highlands. The Montenegrin Mountain Search and Rescue Post reports this on Facebook.
“Attention! Difficult weather conditions! We recommend refraining from going to the highlands,” the message reads.
In particular, as of 09:00 on February 1, it is cloudy, foggy (visibility up to 20 m), northwest wind, 10 m/s, air temperature -12°C, high humidity on Mount Pip Ivan Chornohorskyi.
Avalanche danger in the Carpathians
Also, according to the data of the Ukrhydrometeorological center, today due to snowfalls and blizzards in the highlands of Ivano-Frankivsk and the eastern part of Zakarpattia regions, a significant snow avalanche danger is expected. Danger level 3 has been declared.
Cloudy weather will dominate in Ukraine today. In the afternoon, light snow is expected, in places with rain during the day, in Zakarpattia – moderate precipitation, only in the southern part without significant precipitation. On the roads, except in the afternoon, there is ice in places.
The wind is south-west and west, 5-10 m/s, in the west of the country there are gusts of 15-20 m/s in some places. The temperature during the day is from 2° of frost to 3° of heat, in the southern part and in Transcarpathia it is 1-6° of heat.
In the Carpathians, according to weather forecasters, moderate snow is expected, the temperature at night and during the day will be 4-9 degrees of frost.
