The property of ex-officials will be confiscated in favor of the state.
On Saturday, February 4, 2023, ex-officials of Viktor Yanukovych’s presidency were stripped of their citizenship. Further, they plan to introduce sanctions against them.
The head of the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Davyda Arakhamia, reminded that Andriy Klyuev, Dmytro Tabachnyk, Oleksandr Klymenko, Vitaly Zakharchenko, Oleksandr Yakymenko and other “less public people from their political orbit” were stripped of their citizenship.
“The next step will be the imposition of sanctions, arrest and confiscation for the benefit of the state of all their property, corporate rights and other assets,” Arahamiya added.
Deprivation of citizenship of traitorous officials
On Saturday, February 4, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that another step had been taken to cleanse Ukraine of those who sided with the Russian aggressor. Then it became known that a number of officials from Yanukovych’s time had lost their Ukrainian citizenship.
Previously, Viktor Medvedchuk, Taras Kozak, Andriy Derkach and Renat Kuzmin were stripped of their Ukrainian citizenship.
Subsequently, Zelensky noted that most of the persons deprived of Ukrainian citizenship had passports of another state.
