His appointment was supported by 324 deputies.
On Tuesday, February 7, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Vasyl Malyuk to the post of head of the SBU. People’s deputies Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Oleksiy Honcharenko informed about it.
324 deputies voted “for” the relevant resolution. According to Zheleznyak, the President of Ukraine, the Vice President, the Prime Minister, the Secretary of the National Security Council and the Prosecutor General were present at the vote.
In his speech, Zelensky called on people’s deputies to vote for Vasyl Malyuk. “Given such a result and the test passed by a full-scale war, I consider his (V. Malyuk’s) appointment fully justified,” the head of state said.
