This is Danylo Martynov, a Chechen commander from Ramzan Kadyrov’s entourage.
Russia sent troops to Turkey to eliminate the consequences of the earthquakes. These forces are commanded by Danylo Martynov, a Chechen militant who is suspected of committing war crimes in Ukraine.
As reported by CNN, the head of Russian units in Turkey recently gave an interview to rosZMI from the earthquake zone. Even last year, he received the position of adviser to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, but in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Martynov was a member of the occupying group.
It is believed that the militant is part of Ramzan Kadyrov’s close circle. Previously, he appeared in several videos published in the official Telegram channel of the so-called “leader” of Chechnya.
Martynov’s war crimes in Ukraine
In August 2022, the SBU collected “indisputable evidence” confirming the atrocities of the occupier. In the past, Martynov was in the ranks of the FSB, but at the time of the full-scale invasion, he held the position of head of the federal service of the Russian National Guard troops in the Chechen Republic.
The Security Service of Ukraine established that the militant personally managed the seizure of the Borodyansk psychoneurological boarding school with a geriatric department.
As a result of the attack, the Rashists captured 500 people, including staff, local residents and patients. Among them were 100 bedridden patients. The occupiers mined the entrances to the boarding school, and the building was turned into a firing position.
Martynov is charged under part 1 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war, cruel treatment of prisoners of war or the civilian population).
