The agency predicted that large-scale shelling could take place as early as next week.
Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that Russian President Volodymyr loves commemorative dates, and that is why the occupiers increased the number of shelling of Ukrainian territories on the eve of February 23.
On the air of “Ukrainian Radio” he reminded that on February 23 Russia celebrates the Day of the Soviet Army. Because of this, the interventionists are trying to achieve at least some success in the war with Ukraine by this date.
“They are constantly in a hurry to prove something to Putin, or he himself wants to prove it. Yes, we are already used to it happening by certain dates. Here you can already see – the deadlines are starting to press. They want until February 23 – this is their Defender of the Fatherland Day, and the next today is the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, which they want to take over. So, perhaps, they are shortening the terms of shelling in order to annoy Ukraine the most,” Ignat explained.
In his opinion, if the Russian Federation starts large-scale shelling, it will be before February 23 and 24. At the same time, he assured that Ukrainian air defense is working at full capacity, whenever a new attack does not occur.
“We can predict that the 23rd-24th are the extreme dates when large-scale shelling from the Russians is possible,” Ignat concluded.
Missile attacks on Ukraine
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, said that Russia is planning a massive attack on February 24, the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine.
OK “Pivden” also believes that the next massive missile attack by the Russian Federation may take place on the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, is sure that the Russian troops are trying to accumulate a sufficient amount of missiles to carry out a massive three-minute cascade. In this way, they want to show on the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine that they still have “powder in the powder keg”.
