Kirichevsky also predicted the period of time when Russian equipment reserves would be sufficient.
Defense Express expert Ivan Kyrychevsky believes that the Russian occupying forces were unable to take advantage of their initial technical advantage. Because of this, the enemy is now suffering catastrophic losses in the war waged against Ukraine.
At the same time, as the expert noted on the air of the FREEDIM TV channel, the production of new equipment is still continuing at the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, although it is limited. For example, during the past year, “the Russians were able to add to their assets about 20 combat aircraft, up to 100 modernized tanks and several newly built infantry fighting vehicles – BMP-3.”
Kyrychevsky noted that, according to Western experts’ estimates, the Russians now have at best 5,000 combat-ready tanks, not 10,000. At the same time, the enemy’s armored vehicles and artillery are 30% of their pre-war potential.
According to the expert, the Russian army is trying to fight on de-conserved equipment, “but, fortunately, they are not doing very well.”
“If you look at the numbers, they are literally huge: over the course of the war, the Russian army removed from storage at least 6,000 tanks, at least 5,000 armored vehicles and 4,000 guns. If used correctly, this could overwhelm us in numbers. But it turns out that the Russians they could not take advantage of the technical advantage, and therefore they suffer such catastrophic losses, according to which it turns out that at this rate of resource consumption, the Kremlin will still be able to fight for at least a year, but then it will be wiped out in the literal sense, because there will be no equipment left at the storage bases” – Kyrychevsky noted.
Losses of Russia in the war in Ukraine
On the morning of February 18, the General Staff published new statistics on Russian losses. The total combat losses of the enemy since February 24 last year were approximately 142 thousand 270 people, of which 1 thousand 10 were destroyed during the day.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated at the Munich Security Conference that the Russian Federation lost 200,000 soldiers in the war with Ukraine. In his opinion, Russia’s tactics are increasingly pushing the Kremlin into crisis.
On the other hand, Russia is losing modern technology. Military and political commentator Oleksandr Kovalenko reported that the destruction/damage/trophy of 50 Russian T-90A/S/M “Breakthrough” tanks has been documented in Ukraine to date, and according to undocumented data, this number has long exceeded 80 units.
