Tanks can arrive in Ukraine within a month.
The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said that his country has already prepared the promised Leopard 2 tanks to be sent to Ukraine. He added that now in Poland, the Ukrainian military is learning to work with this equipment.
“Today, our Leopard tanks are ready for Ukraine. In our training center, Ukrainian tankers are training on Leopard tanks, we are preparing them right now, the training cycle continues,” he added in an interview with CNN.
According to Duda, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are currently undergoing training in Poland, will be ready to return to Ukraine with tanks within one month.
At the same time, he emphasized that Poland has serious problems with obtaining spare parts for German tanks. And such a problem is not only in his country.
“It’s not just here – these problems are quite widespread. Other countries also have problems with Leopard, because the Germans have serious problems with the supply of spare parts. We don’t understand this situation, but that’s how it is,” explained the Polish leader.
Military aid to Ukraine from Poland
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at the Munich Security Conference that his country is ready to provide Ukraine with MiG-29 fighter jets. He noted the clear position of Warsaw, which involves participation in a wider coalition.
Moravetskyi also announced the creation of a hub for the repair and modernization of German Leopard 2 tanks for the further supply of combat vehicles to Ukraine.
In addition, Poland’s Deputy Minister of National Defense Wojciech Skurkiewicz said that his country, within the framework of the EU EUMAM mission, plans to conduct monthly military training of two battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
