After careful study, the authorities learned the answer, which surprised everyone.
The other day, a giant metal ball washed up on the beach of the Japanese city of Hamamatsu. After studying the mysterious object, it was possible to find out what it is. But the Japanese public did not like the response. The New York Times writes about it.
A mysterious spherical object about a meter in diameter was discovered on the beach in the morning of January 21. Local emergency services immediately surrounded the area, after which sappers in helmets and protective suits began to examine the bullet, which was suspected to be an old sea mine or a spy device.
After scanning the ball, the authorities were convinced that the object was empty and did not contain any dangerous substances inside. It became clear that it was just an old sea buoy used in ports and in marine scientific research. It can be safely disposed of as ordinary garbage.
However, due to the demonstrative precautions taken by the authorities when examining the bullet, the Japanese online community has already drowned in a tsunami of ridiculous rumors and jokes about the possible nature of the object found.
The Japanese – some jokingly, some seriously – put forward versions about the extraterrestrial origin of the bullet, or called it the egg of an unknown sea monster.
However, most comments reflected geopolitical tensions in the region. The appearance of the bullet was discussed in the context of recent missile tests by North Korea, which launched its missile directly off the coast of Japan, as well as the scandal of Chinese balloons shot down in the United States.
The fact that an ordinary sea buoy washed up on the Japanese shore was of little interest to the public.
Chinese bullets on America
In early February, a huge balloon was spotted over the US territory, which the US military identified as a Chinese spy apparatus. Another similar balloon was spotted over Latin America.
Chinese authorities said it was a civilian weather probe that was simply blown away by the wind. However, the White House did not believe this and canceled Anthony Blinken’s previously planned important visit to Beijing.
On February 4, the American military shot down the bullet when it was over the ocean and its debris could no longer harm the ground. After that, several more strange objects of unknown origin were seen in the sky over America.
