On December 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces immediately destroyed three Russian fighter-bombers in the south.
Military expert, reserve colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, instructor pilot Roman Svitan commented on the recent stunning “catch” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which managed to “land” three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in southern Ukraine.
According to him, in terms of range the Su-34 could be reached by the S-300 or Patriot, Channel 24 reports:
“They work from an ambush. They don’t turn on the locators so that Russian pilots don’t see what kind of system is operating, what its range is, so as not to scare off the enemy.”
Svitan also noted that similar operations to shoot down hostile Su-34s took place, in particular, near Avdeevka. It is noted that the S-300 air defense system was dragged there, which was in off mode, so the Russians did not see it. However, when the Russians took their plane into the air, ours calculated that they could reach it, shoot it down, and quickly worked on it.
