Explosions rocked the city.
On the evening of Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Russian occupation forces attacked Kharkov again. Previously, they attacked from the territory of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
The head of the Kharkov OVA, Oleg Sinegubov, warned about the attack on the city at about 22:35: “An explosion in Kharkov. The occupiers are striking. Do not leave your shelters until the air raid warning clears,” he wrote.
Information about the shelling was also confirmed by the mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov.
At the same time, the head of the Kharkov garrison, Brigadier General Sergei Melnik, reported that the enemy was once again launching attacks from the Belgorod area, previously from the S-300 air defense system. Information about the damage and casualties is being clarified.
Updated 23:07: Oleg Sinegubov reported that the Russians launched two strikes on Kharkov. Preliminarily – with S-300 missiles.
According to the head of the Kharkov Police Department, at the moment there is no information about casualties. At the same time, there is evidence of damage to civilian non-residential infrastructure in the central part of the city.
Shelling of Kharkov
On the evening of January 2, Russian invaders attacked Kharkov with S-300 missiles. The mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov, reported an “arrival” near a residential building. Damage to an educational institution was also recorded.
Subsequently, it became known that the invaders fired a rocket at a school in the Osnovyansky district of the city. The attack resulted in a collapse. In addition, a crater with a diameter of about 10 meters was formed at the site of the explosion.
It is noteworthy that the funnel was filled with water. Rescuers working at the site of the impact suggested that the rocket could have damaged the water supply.
