There may be several more attacks like the attacks on December 29 and January 2, Romanenko believes.
The Russian Federation is working to improve its effectiveness by using different types of weapons during attacks. In addition, the enemy has untouchable reserves of weapons, says General, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko.
“Perhaps the enemy does not have enough strength to develop something new. However, among the latest developments, the Russian Federation has ship-based Zircon missiles, but in terms of modernization they can be used not only on ships, but also in combination, that is, they are universal. For example, , this is like the Iskander on launch operational-tactical missile systems, and the modernized Iskanders are used from MiG-31K aircraft so that the speed of the Iskander, which in this case is called the Kinzhal, is hypersonic. That is, from an airplane this missile overcomes the speed criterion of Mach 5 and becomes a difficult target for missile defense,” he explained on the Espresso TV channel.
Romanenko stressed that together with its allies, Ukraine needs to work on the production of air defense systems with the ability to counter, among other things, Zircon missiles.
“Based on the last two air strikes on December 29 and January 2, we see that the Russian Federation, unfortunately, still has in its arsenal a fairly wide range of weapons that it can use. And taking into account the number of these weapons, several more similar strikes can be carried out. “As the costs of these missiles continue, the likelihood of such attacks decreases further. That is, they are capable of delivering another 3-4 strikes with missiles, although they have emergency reserves, taking into account the fact that the Russian Federation is positioning a war not so much with Ukraine, but with NATO,” – noted the general.
At the same time, Romanenko added that decision-making on an integrated approach to the formation of such attacks – what and in what quantities will be used – is based on Putin’s ambitions for the current time. After this, specialized Russian structures are preparing massive attacks.
Russian attacks on Ukraine: latest news

Meanwhile, the White House said that during attacks on Ukraine during the New Year holidays, the Russians fired ballistic missiles that the Russian Federation received from the DPRK. This shows Kim Jong Un’s growing support for Moscow’s war efforts.
