Ryder noted that he has no specifics regarding when the F-16s will appear in Ukraine.
Ukrainian pilots continue to undergo training on F-16 fighters. It should be completed in a few months.
This statement was made by the representative of the US Department of Defense, General Patrick Ryder. He noted that the training of Ukrainian combat pilots continues at an air base in Arizona.
“As you know, depending on the skill level of the pilot, this could take anywhere from five to eight months. And so hopefully sometime later this year we will begin producing these pilots,” he explained at the briefing.
At the same time, Ryder noted that he has no specifics regarding when the F-16s will appear in Ukraine.
F-16 Pilot Training: It’s Worth Knowing
The first Ukrainian pilots have already completed basic training to fly the F-16 in the UK. Six experienced pilots completed the training, which began in August.
The British government then emphasized that ten more trainee pilots were continuing basic flight training, aviation medicine and centrifuge training in Britain.
In turn, Norway will send two American F-16 fighters to Denmark to train Ukrainian pilots. This was stated by Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Aril Gram. In addition, the country has already sent 10 instructors there.
