It is necessary to look at official sources of information, the speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Army emphasized.
The transfer of F-16s to Ukraine from Denmark is allegedly delayed, and such information has already been commented on by the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat.
It is necessary to trust official sources of information, the press secretary said during the telethon. “We look at the website of the Danish Ministry of Defense. There are no statements there. The publication refers to some of its sources… Of course, it is not simple,” Ignat said.
According to him, the Ukrainian state is rapidly preparing for the transfer of Western F-16 fighters. “Therefore, what are the sources there and what is happening there, I cannot confirm to you, because it is not disclosed too much. We look at the official sources. Do the partners say something? They don’t say anything. There is no need to make some kind of catastrophe or treason out of this,” – said the speaker.
Ignat added that Ukrainian pilots continue to study. “…I would like to (receive the planes) by the end of the year, but we were already talking about the dates in the spring… Infrastructure is being prepared in Ukraine, pilot training continues…”, he added.
The focus is on the F-16 – an aircraft that a number of Western partners should provide to Ukraine
Danish media, citing information from a representative of the Danish Ministry of Defense, wrote that the transfer of the first six F-16 fighters to Ukraine should take place no earlier than the second quarter of this year. According to journalists, at first they wanted to transfer the planes to our state before the New Year.
Let us recall that at the end of December it became known that the Netherlands had already begun to prepare for the fact that these fighters would soon be transferred to our country. At the end of December, instructor pilot and reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan suggested that Western F-16s could already be on our territory.
