Up to 30 cm of snow will fall in the Dnepropetrovsk region: danger level II declared

Difficult winter weather is expected in the Dnepropetrovsk region in the coming days. First there will be heavy rainfall, and then frost will hit. This was reported by the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Center for Hydrometeorology.

According to forecasters, more difficult weather conditions are expected on January 7 and 8 due to the impact of the southwestern cyclone.

So, on January 7, there will be light rain and sleet during the night and moderate rain during the day. In the evening there is ice in places and the roads are icy. Temperature during the day is 0°…+5°.

On January 8, significant snow, sometimes heavy in places, is expected during the day. In the southern regions there will be precipitation in the form of sleet and rain, freezing rain, and ice in places. Blizzards, snow drifts and icy roads are also expected. Northeast wind gusts will reach 15-20 m/s. Forecasters predict the formation of snow cover up to 30 cm high. Temperatures during the day will be -3°…-8°.

On January 9, precipitation is expected to weaken and the air temperature will drop significantly: at night it will be -10°…-15°, and during the day -5°…-10°.

On January 10, the temperature at night will drop to -12°…-17°, and during the day the thermometer will show -2°…-7°. On January 11, at night it will be -9°…-14°, and during the day -2°…-7°.

Due to bad weather, danger level I (yellow) has been declared, and in some places danger level II (orange).

“Complicated weather conditions and a decrease in air temperature may have a negative impact on the functioning of economic activity, motor transport and the life of the population, as well as complications in the work of public utilities and energy enterprises, disruption and cessation of traffic on the roads. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!” – forecasters warn .

According to weather forecasters, today it will be partly cloudy in the Dnepropetrovsk region. No significant precipitation. Fog is expected in some places in the area. Wind southwest, 7-12 m/s. The temperature in the region during the day will be +3°…+8°, and in the Dnieper the temperature will rise to +5°…+7°.
