Ukraine has contracted robotic turrets “ShaBlya” for the first time. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov on his Facebook page.

“ShaBlya” is a bulletproof automated system for machine guns. It helps the military remotely destroy the enemy, Fedorov explained. It is thanks to remote operation that the turret preserves the life and health of machine gunners.

“ShaBlya” is an innovation and an example of a weapon of modern warfare. The development has moved from a start-up to a sustainable project, which is contracted by the state. Our task is to help create innovations so that they reach the battlefield faster, are used faster, we receive feedback and more of these innovations. We must seed startups and empower young entrepreneurs to create projects that make a difference on the battlefield. Technologies help keep our soldiers alive and be effective,” the minister emphasized.

Let us recall that in the fall of 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the first remote-controlled combat module “ShaBlya” for operation.

Weapons production in Ukraine: other news

Ukraine plans to establish large-scale production of electronic warfare equipment to counter enemy small aircraft. Mikhail Fedorov spoke about this. The head of the Ministry of Digital Development also added that UAV production volumes in Ukraine have increased a hundredfold over the year.

In addition, state tests have already been completed and the Shturm-SM mobile anti-tank missile system has been codified on the basis of one of the armored combat vehicles. It is known that a new optical-electronic station was installed on it, and instead of Soviet 9M114 “Cocoon” anti-tank missiles, RK-2P guided missiles from the Luch design bureau were installed.
