Podolyak noted that a “war freeze” will not solve any problems for both Ukraine and the West.
There were reports in the media about a “secret meeting” between the United States and allies with Ukraine regarding a peace plan, where Kyiv wanted to gain support for its terms for negotiations with Russia. Advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, Mikhail Podolyak, commented on these rumors.
On Channel 24, he emphasized that Russia is actively investing in military production, and will also increase its army by 2.5 – 3.5 million. In the event of a freeze in the war, the Russian Federation will use the experience gained and become three times more powerful.
“Do people realize this or not? Or do they think that it will be possible to come to Moscow and walk around Red Square? No, they don’t realize this, and therefore all this talk about some kind of “secret meetings” is absolutely fiction. There is no secret meetings. Ukraine cannot participate in them, the president has repeatedly said this,” Podolyak emphasized.
At the same time, Podolyak noted that a “freeze of war” will not solve any problems for both Ukraine and the West. Other countries will rally around Russia.
“When someone talks about freezing the conflict, do they understand exactly what it is? On what terms? And who will benefit? If not, then let them explain why they are constantly talking about this? Because Russia does not propose freezing the conflict on someone else’s terms. It offers an “operational pause” in the form of a freeze in the war in order to prepare for the next stages,” Podolyak noted.

Bloomberg recently reported that a secret meeting took place last month between Ukraine, its G7 allies and representatives of the countries of the Global South on a peace plan. It allegedly took place on December 16 in Saudi Arabia.
It was noted that they discussed the “Formula of Peace” and plans to advance the peace process, as well as the principles of potential interaction with Russia in the future. According to the publication, representatives of India, Saudi Arabia and Turkey took part in the meeting, while China, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates did not send their negotiators.
