Tsymbalyuk noted that it is necessary to develop a standard on how to keep the Rada functioning.
Current deputies must be subject to mobilization. This opinion was expressed by People’s Deputy of Ukraine Mikhail Tsymbalyuk.
In a comment to the Espresso TV channel, he noted that it is necessary to develop a standard on how to keep the Verkhovna Rada functioning. According to him, the Russian Federation is interested in the Ukrainian parliament becoming incapacitated and unable to pass laws or continue martial law and mobilization. Tsymbalyuk added that this requires 300 people’s deputies.
“Today there are 401 people’s deputies. If we discard those who are not subject to mobilization – these are women, men with many children, those aged 60+, then about a hundred people’s deputies can be mobilized. Then civil society will realize that justice in mobilization is finally coming to the country” ,” summarized Mikhail Tsymbalyuk.
Mobilization in Ukraine: it’s worth knowing
On December 25, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted a bill on mobilization to the Rada. They provided, in particular, for reducing the mobilization age from 27 to 25 years and serving electronic summonses, as well as certain restrictions regarding draft dodgers.
The Rada saw numerous shortcomings in this document, including corruption risks. Thus, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, Anastasia Radina, explained that it is necessary to clearly define in what time frames and under what conditions the TCC can initiate the inclusion of persons liable for military service in the register of debtors with further restrictions on the disposal of property and the like. According to her, military commissars should not be able to immediately add to such registers people who really had reasons not to appear, and others “not to be seen” for months.
On January 11, the Cabinet of Ministers withdrew its bill on mobilization. The Ministry of Defense has prepared a new version of the bill.
